The scoring between the old SAT and new SAT changed from a scoring of 600-2400 to 400-1600. There is also no penalty for incorrect answers. Another newly introduced option is the ability to take the test online, rather than on paper.
The subjects that are tested on the 2016 SAT include Mathematics, Critical Reading and Vocabulary. There is also an essay portion that is optional. We recommend taking the essay each time, if you are not sure which college you want to attend, because some do not superscore SAT scores (pick and choose which scores to take from which SAT session you sat for).
The essay for the SAT must be hand-written and the prompt (provided in the SAT booklet) must be fully answered. For this portion, you may use examples from personal experiences, common knowledge and information given to you from the prompt.
